Our client is a well established distributor of industrial products and consumables, supporting customers across WA's mining, resources, manufacturing and heavy industry sectors.

The Perth branch is one of the busiest in the national network, servicing a diverse customer base with a broad range of industrial products and technical solutions. If it moves, they supply it: bearings, power transmission, gearboxes, electric motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, belts, etc.

The branch has a knowledgeable and experienced team, with access to ongoing supplier training and technical support. This provides a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop their industry knowledge while taking the next step in their sales career.

The Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll be responsible for growing the branch's external sales, taking ownership of a portfolio of around 100 accounts across actively trading and dormant customers.

You'll primarily service engineering workshops supporting WA's major miners, along with local manufacturers.



Many are large multi division operations with dozens of buying contacts inside a single customer.

The proven approach here is specialisation. Pick a product area, become the expert customers rely on, then cross sell the wider range once you're in the door. Gearboxes and power transmission is the standout opportunity right now given the skill shortage and demand across WA.

You'll be supported by the internal sales team, the warehouse and a State Manager who spent years on the road as a BDM himself before moving into leadership.

About You

We're looking for an approachable, practical and self motivated salesperson who enjoys getting out in front of customers and solving problems.

You'll bring:

- Experience in industrial, trade or wholesale distribution, ideally within engineering supplies, mining services, electrical, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, fasteners, tools or similar industries

- Alternatively, you may be in internal sales, a branch or trade counter role, or come from a workshop or trade background and are ready to step up into a dedicated field sales role

- A customer focused approach and the ability to build strong working relationships at multiple levels within an account

- Good organisational and problem solving skills, with the discipline to manage your own time and territory

- Technical aptitude, a positive attitude and a genuine interest in learning about the products and industries they service
