About the role

CJ's Crab Shack and Grill is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Waiting Staff to join our team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant hospitality establishment in Penrith, NSW, where you will deliver exceptional service to our valued guests. As Waiting Staff, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. What you'll be doing

- Greeting customers warmly and seating them at appropriate tables in accordance with restaurant procedures

- Presenting menus and providing knowledgeable recommendations about our food and beverage offerings

- Taking accurate food and beverage orders from customers and communicating them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff

- Serving food and beverages to customers in a timely, qualified and courteous manner

- Clearing tables promptly and ensuring dining areas remain clean and well-organised throughout service

- Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions accurately

- Responding to customer queries and requests with patience and professionalism, resolving issues where possible

- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all times

- Following food safety and health and hygiene regulations consistently

- Supporting team members and collaborating to ensure smooth service during busy periods

- Restocking dining areas with necessary items such as cutlery, glassware and napkins

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working as Waiting Staff or in a similar hospitality role, preferably in a busy restaurant environment

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and qualified under pressure

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities





- Reliable and punctual with a adaptable approach to scheduling

- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, or willingness to obtain certification

- Positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Basic numeracy skills for handling payments and processing orders

- A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate is highly desirable
