The Opportunity As a General Medicine Registrar, you will work alongside experienced physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients with a broad range of acute and complex medical conditions.
Depending on the hospital and position, your responsibilities may include:

- Assessing and managing patients admitted to General Medicine wards and acute medical units
- Participating in inpatient care, outpatient clinics and medical admissions
- Managing complex medical presentations and patients with multiple comorbidities
- Working collaboratively with consultants, junior medical officers, nursing staff and allied health professionals
- Providing clinical guidance and supervision to junior medical staff, consistent with your level of experience
- Participating in ward rounds, clinical handovers and multidisciplinary meetings
- Contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Participating in rostered shifts, including nights, weekends and on-call duties as required
- Engaging in continuing professional development, teaching and clinical education

Selection Criteria Applicants will generally be expected to demonstrate:

- An MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
- At least 3–4 years of postgraduate clinical experience,



with relevant experience in General Medicine or Internal Medicine desirable for many positions
- Eligibility for the applicable AHPRA registration category
- AMC Part 1 completion or eligibility for an applicable alternative registration pathway, depending on the role
- English language proficiency meeting the Medical Board of Australia's registration standard, where applicable
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and patient management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary hospital environment
