Our client is an established Australian-owned fruit producer with growing, harvesting, packing and marketing operations across multiple states. An exciting opportunity exists to join their developing citrus operation in Central Queensland. Supported by modern irrigation systems, experienced management and long-term investment, the orchard is preparing to transition into commercial production.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a substantial horticultural operation at an important stage of its development, with the backing and resources of an established national fruit producer.
The Role:
- Supervise and coordinate field and labour-hire teams.
- Plan daily orchard activities and allocate staff workloads.
- Oversee pruning, thinning, spraying and general orchard maintenance.
- Monitor tree health, pest and disease concerns and irrigation performance.
- Assist with harvest preparation and seasonal labour coordination.
- Maintain accurate operational, safety and production records.
- Support staff training, machinery operations and safe work practices.
About you:
- Experience in commercial citrus production and harvest operations.
- Proven ability to supervise and coordinate orchard teams.
- Sound knowledge of crop care, tree health and orchard maintenance.
- Ability to organise work programs and maintain productivity.
- Confidence operating tractors and agricultural machinery.
- Solid communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Competence using computers and mobile applications for farm records.
- Relevant horticultural qualifications, chemical handling accreditation, First Aid and machinery licences will be highly regarded.
