An opportunity is now available for a Business Development Manager to join the Perth team and help grow the business across Western Australia.

Role Description

My client is looking for a motivated Business Development Manager who enjoys being out in the market, meeting customers and bringing in new business.

You'll be responsible for developing new customers across Perth while looking after existing accounts and finding ways to grow them. This will involve regular visits to builders, contractors and trade customers, following up opportunities and building relationships that lead to ongoing sales.

You'll have the freedom to manage your own territory, plan your customer visits and develop your pipeline, with the backing of an established business and an experienced team.

Product knowledge is important, but it can be learned. The priority is finding someone who knows how to sell, enjoys working with customers and is willing to put in the effort to build a successful territory.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop current business across the Perth market

- Build relationships with builders, contractors and trade customers

- Grow existing accounts and identify new sales opportunities

- Conduct regular customer visits and site meetings

- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and follow up opportunities

- Manage your sales pipeline and work towards sales targets





- Identify upcoming projects and opportunities within the construction industry

- Work closely with internal sales, operations and delivery teams

- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products

- Monitor competitor activity and changes in the local market

- Represent the business professionally across the industry

- Build lasting customer relationships that generate repeat business

Role Requirements

- Previous experience in business development or external sales

- Experience in building materials, steel, construction supply or a related industry is preferred

- Confidence dealing with builders, contractors and trade customers

- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills

- A willingness to prospect, make calls and win new business

- Commercial awareness and an understanding of sales margins

- The ability to manage a territory and work independently

- Good organisation and time management skills

- A current driver's licence

Salary and Benefits

$110,000–$125,000 + Super 12% + Car + Bonus
