Our client, Remax Doors is looking for an Electrical Technician to join their NSW team. This is a hands-on field role responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of commercial and industrial door systems across NSW. You will work with Rapid Doors, Sectional Doors, Impact Swing Doors, Roller Shutters and Strip Screens, supporting customers from installation through to preventative maintenance and breakdown response.
Your work will include:
- Completing electrical installations involving cabling, control panels, motors, drives, sensors and safety devices
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
- Testing, commissioning and handing over systems safely and compliantly
- Completing scheduled preventative maintenance and pre-site assessments
- Reading wiring diagrams and schematics to fault-find methodically
- Recording job notes, photos, labour and parts in the job management system
- Supporting the wider service, installation and NSW hub teams when required
The usual hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with applicable allowances for occasional early starts, overtime, weekend work, night shifts and on-call service requirements. Overnight travel will be required from time to time as well.
You will bring:
- A Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) / A current NSW electrical licence
- At least one year of relevant electrical or field service experience
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across NSW
- Experience in automated doors, lifts, motors, drives,
control panels or similar electromechanical equipment OR experience in industrial or commercial electrical work (we will show you the ropes!). Domestic Electricians with strong experience will be considered.
- A safety-first approach and the ability to work independently on customer sites
- Confidence using hand and power tools, reading electrical diagrams and troubleshooting faults
- Positive mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with motors, drives, control circuits and safety devices
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach with customers and site contacts
- The physical capability to undertake field installation work, including manual handling and work at heights
- Current White Card (or ability to get one)
Desirable, but not essential, so don't let these deter you from applying:
- A Working at Heights, EWP and forklift ticket
- Experience with Simpro or a comparable job management system
