About the role
Working within the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and validation of new products and vehicle systems across a wide range of projects including portal axle systems, engine, drivetrain and transmission products, secondary stage manufacturing (SSM) vehicle modifications, vehicle electrical and control systems, and custom engineering projects. You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development and engineering analysis through to prototype manufacture, testing and production release.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical, electrical and electromechanical systems for automotive applications
- Produce 3D CAD models, drawings and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks
- Develop prototypes and work with sales and workshop staff to bring concepts to life
- Conduct bench, workshop and vehicle-based testing activities
- Analyse test results and implement design improvements
- Assist with vehicle integration activities including drivetrain, suspension, electrical and control system installation
- Support product validation, compliance and certification activities
- Develop engineering calculations, FEA analysis and technical reports where required
- Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers and technical partners
- Participate in design reviews, ECNs, and revision updates.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in product development, automotive engineering or similar engineering roles
- Strong SolidWorks CAD skills
- Practical hands-on experience building, modifying or testing mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Australian Manual Driver's Licence
