Lead the People & Culture agenda for a business entering its next phase of growth.
Genuine seat at the leadership table with direct access to key decision-makers.
Opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by building the people foundations for future success.
The Company
Miller Leith is proud to partner with Barbell Foods, a founder-led food manufacturing business. Having grown from a local start-up into a nationally recognised brand, Barbell is entering an exciting new phase of growth. The business has built strong foundations, a loyal customer base and an ambitious vision for the future. With headcount expected to approximately double over the next two to three years, the focus is now on ensuring the people, leadership and organisational capability can scale alongside the business.
This is a rare opportunity to join a business where decisions are made quickly, leaders remain close to the operation, and your impact will be seen across the entire organisation.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Founders and working closely with the Leadership Team, the Head of People & Culture will shape and execute the people strategy that supports Barbell's continued growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and evolving the current People & Culture framework to ensure it can support future scale.
- Building fit-for-purpose frameworks across organisational design, workforce planning, leadership development, performance, remuneration and talent acquisition.
- Partnering with leaders to strengthen capability and create a high-performing culture.
- Acting as a trusted advisor,
providing guidance on people-related risks, opportunities and priorities as the business expands.
- Balancing greater structure and accountability while preserving the entrepreneurial culture that has made Barbell successful.
About You
You are an experienced People & Culture leader who enjoys building and improving organisations. You understand what good looks like and can translate that into practical solutions that support both people outcomes and business performance.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling People frameworks within a growing organisation.
- Experience partnering closely with founders, owners or entrepreneurial leadership teams.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on and close to execution.
- Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
- A pragmatic, low-ego approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Experience within FMCG, food or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded; however, proven success supporting growth and organisational scale is of greater importance.
