THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Officer to support the maintenance, upkeep and day-to-day operations of our facilities across multiple Sydney locations.

Reporting to the Facilities Team Leader, this is a varied, hands-on role combining general building maintenance, minor repairs, preventative maintenance and site inspections with the coordination and administration of day-to-day facilities operations.

You will play an important role in identifying and resolving maintenance issues, coordinating contractors, maintaining accurate facilities records and ensuring our sites remain safe, well-maintained and ready to support the delivery of our services.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently and enjoys finding practical solutions to everyday challenges.

This is a full-time role working predominantly Monday to Friday. Occasional evening, weekend and public holiday work is an essential requirement of the position to support organisational operations.

- Respond to maintenance requests, prioritise allocated tasks and ensure works are completed within agreed timeframes
- Liaise with contractors, tradespeople and external service providers to coordinate maintenance works and ensure timely completion
- Support minor facilities improvement projects, site upgrades and refurbishment activities
- Assist with equipment movement, deliveries, storage and general operational logistics across multiple locations
- Provide site-based facilities assistance to the Events Department including venue preparation,

equipment setup and pack down where required
- Work collaboratively with Facilities volunteers and provide practical guidance on allocated tasks
- Maintain accurate facilities records including maintenance registers, work orders, contractor documentation, asset information and compliance checklists
- Assist with facilities administration including obtaining quotes, tracking maintenance requests, coordinating service bookings and following up on outstanding works
- Ensure all activities comply with Work Health and Safety ('WHS') requirements and organisational procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You may currently be working in building maintenance, property services, facilities operations, trades assistance or a similar hands-on environment and be looking for a varied role where you can put your practical and organisational skills to good use.

We are looking for someone with:

- Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, handyman services or a similar practical role
- Strong hands-on maintenance skills including minor repairs, painting, patching, general upkeep and safe use of tools and equipment
- The ability to work independently, identify issues and take ownership of tasks through to completion
- Experience supporting maintenance works, contractors or minor facilities improvement projects
- Sound administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
- Experience maintaining accurate records, updating registers and tracking maintenance activities or operational tasks
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing maintenance and operational requirements
- A proactive, reliable and solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees, volunteers and contractors
- Sound understanding of workplace safety requirements and safe maintenance practices
- A current and valid Australian driver's licence
- Flexibility to work across multiple locations and undertake occasional evening, weekend and public holiday shifts as required.

Relevant trade qualifications,

multi-site maintenance experience or previous experience within a community services workplace will be highly regarded.
