As Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead the engineering side of rail services projects from scope through to handover. You’ll work closely with project managers, site teams and clients to make sure work is designed, planned and delivered safely, on time and to specification.
Key responsibilities
- Lead engineering delivery on rail infrastructure and maintenance projects across the Sydney network
- Prepare and review technical documentation, work packages, designs and as-built records
- Manage project scope, programme, cost and variations alongside the Project Manager
- Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors and rail network owners
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements and relevant rail standards
- Manage risks, conduct technical reviews and drive continuous improvement
- Mentor graduate and junior engineers
About you
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Rail Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ engineering experience, with experience on rail projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian rail standards and network access requirements
- Proven record delivering projects in a live rail workplace
- Solid commercial awareness and sound technical judgement
- Clear communicator, confident dealing with clients and stakeholders
- Current driver’s licence and ability to work on site across Greater Sydney
Desirable
- CPEng / NER registration or progress towards it
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card or current track safety qualifications
- Experience with NSW rail networks (e.g. Sydney Trains, TfNSW, ARTC)
