Blewitt Springs Free Range Eggs is a free range egg producer based in the pristine McLaren Vale wine region. The farm is owned by Rohde Egg Co., a multi-generational family owned and operated business who have been producing eggs since 1957.

The farm has capacity for 45,000 chickens across three layer sheds and the eggs produced are graded and packaged at the Rohde Egg Co. facility before being distributed across the state to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets including Coles and Drakes.

The business is looking for a motivated individual to join the team in the Part time/Casual position as Poultry Farm Hand.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:
Daily shed checks and complete feed, water and environment check and floor egg collection.
Egg packing duties when required.
Scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance to fix and/or maintain farm infrastructure.
Poultry husbandry including weighing of birds.




Provide detailed reporting on a daily basis and ensure maintenance logs are completed.
Maintain range and yard areas through slashing, mowing, tree logging and weed control.
Flock turnaround from depopulation stage, to removal of infrastructure, cleaning, rebuild and placement of recent hens.

About You
Practical farm experience (preferably with poultry but not essential)
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter with outstanding time management skills
Leadership qualities and self-motivated
Open to change and able to adapt to different scenarios
Available for weekend work
