Job Description

As Sous Chef, you'll play a key leadership role in managing the kitchen and ensuring consistent execution across preparation and service. You'll be expected to lead by example, confidently run service when required and help build a professional, organised and positive kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities /n

Work closely with and support the Head Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen

/n

Preparation and execution of high-quality Italian dishes

/n

Prepare stocks, sauces and other core kitchen components from scratch

/n

Help lead and coordinate the kitchen team during service

/n

Run service confidently when required

/n

Maintain consistency across food quality, presentation and portion control

/n

Assist with ordering, stock control and minimising waste

/n

Help train, support and develop kitchen staff

/n

Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and WHS standards

/n

Help build and maintain an organised, respectful and qualified kitchen culture

About you /n

Proven experience as a Sous Chef





/n

Strong experience in Italian cuisine

/n

Strong knowledge of stocks, sauces and cooking from scratch

/n

Confident leading and supporting a kitchen team

/n

Calm and organised in a fast-paced service setting

/n

Reliable, punctual and consistent

/n

Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness

/n

Strong communication and teamwork

/n

A positive approach to leadership and developing others

/n

Someone who takes ownership and genuinely cares about maintaining high standards
