n About your new role
n
n
n We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our café team in a hands-on, all-rounder role. Working closely with our National Kitchen Lead and Café team, you'll help deliver a simple, quality food offering that perfectly complements our coffee.
n
n
n This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing great food, and is happy to jump in wherever needed. You'll thrive in a fast-paced workplace, work collaboratively with the team, and be confident working autonomously when required.
n
n
n A day in the life
n
n
n A typical day could look like:
n
n
n
n
n
n
Arriving bright and early and enjoying a coffee with the team before service begins
n
n
Assisting the National Kitchen Lead with food preparation for the day ahead
n
n
Washing dishes and maintaining a clean, organised back-of-house area
n
n
Ensuring food safety, cleanliness and quality standards are upheld throughout the day
n
n
n
n
n
n
It could also include:
n
n
n
n
n
n
Baking sweet treats and toasting sandwiches
n
n
Plating dishes and running the pass during service
n
n
Supporting the front-of-house team on the floor or till when required
n
n
Helping with stock organisation and general kitchen operations
n
n
Pitching in wherever needed to keep the café running smoothly
n
n
n
n
n
n
About you
n
n
n You have a passion for great food, quality coffee and hospitality, and enjoy being part of a close-knit team where everyone contributes to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Must-haves
n
n
n
n
n
n
Previous café or commercial kitchen experience
n
n




Confidence with food preparation and basic cooking
n
n
Strong food safety and hygiene standards
n
n
Fast, organised and reliable during busy service periods
n
n
Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards consistently
n
n
Team-focused and willing to jump across all kitchen duties
n
n
Availability for early mornings and weekends
n
n
Food Safety/Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification, or willingness to obtain
n
n
n
n
n
n
Nice to have
n
n
n
n
Café or brunch kitchen experience
n
n
Experience working with seasonal, produce-led menus
n
n
Baking or pastry skills
n
n
Experience with ordering, stock control and waste management
n
n
Current Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification
n
n
Interest in coffee and hospitality
n
n
Experience supporting menu development
n
n
n
