The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded residential construction group in Western Australia, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to join their team in Perth.
n
n
Reporting to the Building Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Site Managers, driving productivity, safety, quality, compliance, cost management and customer experience across the construction operation.
n
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
n
n
Lead, coach and develop a team of Site Managers
n
n
Drive construction productivity, build timeframes and practical completion targets
n
n
Monitor construction forecasts, workloads and performance
n
n
Manage trade allocation, recruitment and retention
n
n
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety requirements
n
n
Oversee quality, compliance and building inspection outcomes
n
n
Monitor construction costs and identify opportunities for improvement
n
n
Manage supplier and subcontractor performance
n
n
Support customer escalations and ensure high-quality handovers
n
n
Review construction performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
n
n
Conduct regular site, safety and compliance reviews
n
n
Work collaboratively with Safety, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience and other internal teams
n
n
Support broader construction initiatives and continuous improvement
n
n
n
About You
n
n
We are looking for an experienced residential
construction manager
or area
construction manager
with a strong understanding of Frame and Truss building methodology and proven experience leading high-performing teams.
n
n




You will have:
n
n
n
n
Strong experience in residential construction
n
n
Solid building methodology experience, particularly Frame & Truss – essential
n
n
Previous experience as a Construction Manager or Area Construction Manager
n
n
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing Site Managers
n
n
Strong understanding of construction processes, quality and compliance
n
n
Ability to interpret building plans, specifications and inspection reports
n
n
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction costs
n
n
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
n
n
Ability to build robust relationships with trades, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
n
n
A strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and delivering results
n
n
n
n
A relevant trade qualification and/or experience working closely with trades in residential construction will be highly regarded. 5+ years' experience in a Construction Manager position is desirable.
