As part of the Survey123 product engineering team, you will contribute to the design, quality, and delivery of real-world field data collection workflows, helping ensure our solutions meet the needs of users across industries and environments.
n

Responsibilities
n
n
n
n
Participate in the delivery of regular high-quality releases of Survey123 and related field apps that address real user needs
n
n
Work closely with developers, designers, and other product engineers to help define, build, and validate product functionality, workflows, and user experience
n
n
Routinely test software and mobile applications to ensure both development goals and real-world use cases are met
n
n
Contribute to understanding and shaping user workflows, translating field requirements into effective product behavior and user experience
n
n
Identify gaps in functionality or workflow and provide input into product improvements and feature prioritization
n
n
Advocate for product quality, usability, and consistency across platforms (mobile, web, and desktop)
n
n
Contribute to documentation of features, workflows, and user guidance
n
n
Support holistic testing activities and ensure learnings are incorporated into the development cycle
n
n
Collaborate on test plans and contribute to automation where appropriate, with a focus on improving overall product quality
n
n
n
n
Requirements
n
n
n
n
2+ years of GIS experience in a scientific or engineering environment
n
n
Ability to understand and analyze user workflows and apply GIS concepts
n
n
Experience as a creator or user of field data collection solutions, including use of both paper and digital tools
n
n
Understanding of field data collection workflows, including GNSS usage and mobile platform considerations
n
n
Familiarity with the ArcGIS ecosystem, using products such as Survey123, QuickCapture, Field Maps, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Enterprise
n
n
Familiarity with mobile platforms (iOS, Android, Windows) and their
capabilities/limitations
n
n
Ability to work closely with a team to build quality software in a constantly evolving workplace
n
n
Effective time management and organizational skills
n
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
n
Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, GIS, or related field
n
n
Existing work authorization for Australia
n
n
n
n
Recommended Qualifications
n
n
n
n
Experience or exposure to integration workflows (e.g., webhooks, Power Automate, APIs)
n
n
Experience or exposure to manual and/or automated testing practices within a software development environment
n
n
Experience contributing to test creation (functional, regression, or integration testing)
n
n
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)
n
n
Basic scripting or programming experience to support testing, workflows, or automation
n
n
Master's in computer science, engineering, GIS, or related field
n
n
