Network Engineer
to join our
Infrastructure
team in
Melbourne.

The Network Engineer - Infrastructure will support and maintain critical network infrastructure environments, combining operational support, project delivery and hands-on technical work across networking, security and datacentre technologies. Working closely with both internal and client-facing teams, they will help deliver reliable, secure and high-performing solutions.

What you'll do:
n
n
Take ownership of day-to-day provisioning and troubleshooting activities, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard
n
Plan, coordinate and deliver network-related projects across a variety of technologies and environments
n
Act as an escalation point for client-facing teams, responding to incidents and driving timely resolutions
n
Perform hands-on datacentre work including patching, hardware installations and equipment removals
n
Manage ongoing maintenance activities including software upgrades, firmware updates and system improvements
n
Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, ensuring procedures and knowledge bases remain current and reliable
n
n
What you'll bring:
n
Essential
n
n
Strong fundamental networking knowledge across Layer 2, 3 and 4 protocols
n
Experience working with BGP,
MPLS and OSPF
n
Security fundamentals and hands-on firewall configuration experience
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
n
Experience with Juniper routers
n
Experience with Cisco routing and switching
n
Experience with Fortigate firewalls
n
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
n
A quick learner with a willingness to continue learning and studying to further your career
n
Must be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
Experience with Voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting
n
Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes
n
Experience with other Fortinet products including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, EMS and SIEM
n
Certifications across any of the mentioned vendors or technologies
n
