Job Description
Mt Elephant Station is seeking an experienced and motivated Livestock Overseer to join our large-scale mixed farming operation. Working closely with the Farm Manager, the position will have an important role in the day-to-day management of approximately 3,*****,000 breeding ewes, along with around 1,500 Beef on dairy trade cattle.
Key responsibilities n
n
Day-to-day management and husbandry of sheep and cattle
n
Mustering, drafting, drenching, vaccination and other livestock programs
n
Pasture, grazing and feed management
n
Monitoring livestock health, condition and welfare
n
Monitoring livestock water and associated infrastructure
n
Operating tractors, utes, quad bikes and other farm machinery
n
Fencing and general livestock infrastructure maintenance
n
Assisting with contractors and livestock operations when required
n
Identifying opportunities to improve livestock and pasture utilisation
n




About you n

Has solid experience working with both sheep and cattle
n
Has a solid understanding of livestock production and pasture management
n
Takes pride in animal welfare and livestock performance
n
Is practical, reliable and hardworking
n
Can work independently and take responsibility for their role
n
Has good machinery and general farm skills
n
Is willing to contribute ideas and look for ways to improve the operation
n
