Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Storage
n Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing
n enterprise storage infrastructure. Acts as a
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
for storage technologies, including Dell EMC PowerMax, SRDF replication, and
n SnapVX. Leads critical production environments, disaster recovery strategies,
n IBM Power 10 AIX servers, Dell PPDM, SAN Cisco switches and performance
n optimization initiatives.
n

Roles and Responsibilities:
n

n experience in enterprise storage and backup administration, with a strong
n track record of managing large-scale data center environments and supporting
n mission-critical infrastructure across production and non-production systems.

· Demonstrated deep expertise
n in Dell EMC PowerMax (PMAX)



storage arrays and Dell Data Domain platforms,
n including configuration, management, troubleshooting, and performance
n optimization in enterprise environments.

· Strong proficiency in SAN
n technologies, including Cisco switch management, zoning configurations, and
n fabric administration, ensuring seamless connectivity, high availability, and
n optimal SAN performance.
n
· Extensive hands-on experience
n with LUN provisioning, masking, and storage allocation, ensuring efficient
n storage utilization, proper host mapping, and adherence to best practices in
n storage management.
n
· Proven experience in backup
n scheduling, execution, and restoration processes, covering full and
n incremental backup strategies while ensuring data integrity, reliability, and
n successful recovery during critical scenarios.
n
· Solid understanding and
n practical application of ITIL frameworks, including incident, problem, and
n change management processes, ensuring structured operations and compliance
n with organizational service management standards.
n
· Hands-on experience in
n firmware upgrades and patch management for storage arrays and SAN devices,
n ensuring systems remain up-to-date, secure, and compliant with vendor and
n organizational requirements.
n
· Strong analytical and
n problem-solving skills with the ability to perform capacity planning, analyze
n performance trends, and implement optimization techniques to improve overall
n system efficiency and scalability.

· In-depth knowledge of
n security best practices for storage environments, including access control
n mechanisms, audit logging, and data retention policies to ensure compliance
n with regulatory and organizational security standards.

· Excellent documentation
n skills with the ability to create detailed operational reports, standard
n operating procedures (SOPs), and technical documentation to support ongoing
n operations and knowledge sharing.

· Proven experience in vendor
n management, particularly with Dell EMC and Cisco, including coordinating
n support activities, handling escalations, and ensuring timely resolution of
n issues in collaboration with external teams.

· Analyze storage and backup




n system performance metrics such as IOPS, latency, and throughput, and
n implement effective tuning strategies to improve efficiency, optimize
n resource utilization, and ensure consistent system performance across the
n environment.
n
· Identify performance
n bottlenecks across storage arrays, SAN infrastructure, and backup systems,
n and proactively resolve issues through root cause analysis, ensuring minimal
n impact to production workloads and preventing recurring incidents.
n
· Perform data restoration
n activities during incidents, outages, or on-demand requests, ensuring timely
n recovery of critical data in alignment with defined RTO and RPO objectives
n while validating data integrity and completeness.
n
· Conduct regular system
n maintenance and execute firmware upgrades for storage arrays, SAN switches,
n and backup systems, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and compliant
n with vendor recommendations without impacting business operations.
n
· Perform routine system and
n storage maintenance activities such as monitoring health status, reviewing
n logs, and validating configurations to ensure optimal functionality,
n reliability, and system readiness at all times.
n
· Ensure all storage, SAN, and
n backup systems operate within defined performance thresholds and service
n level agreements (SLAs), continuously monitoring metrics and taking
n corrective actions to maintain uptime and service quality.
n
· Implement robust access
n control mechanisms and encryption standards to protect sensitive data,
n ensuring secure storage environments and compliance with organizational
n security policies and industry best practices.
n
· Maintain comprehensive audit
n logs for all backup, recovery, and system activities, ensuring traceability,
n accountability, and readiness for internal and external audits while
n supporting compliance requirements.
n
· Follow and enforce data
n retention and disposal policies by managing backup lifecycle processes,
n ensuring proper data archival, retention, and secure deletion in accordance
n with regulatory and organizational standards.
