Job Description
We are currently partnering with a progressive regional health service to recruit a
Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine
to join a growing and well-supported ICU team on the Fraser Coast.
n
This role is based within a
major regional referral hospital (Tier 2 facility)
forming part of a broader health service supporting approximately
225,000 residents
across the Wide Bay region.
n
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services including emergency, medical, surgical, paediatrics, maternity and critical care, with strong integration across multiple sites including Bundaberg and surrounding rural facilities.
n
The
ICU department
supports the Fraser Coast region and offers:

A broad case mix including medical, surgical and emergency presentations
n
Close collaboration with ED, Anaesthetics and inpatient teams
n
Stabilisation and management of critically unwell patients with transfer pathways to tertiary centres where required
n
Strong involvement in teaching, supervision and regional training pathways
n
n
You will play a key role in:

Delivering high-quality intensive care services
n
Supervising and mentoring junior doctors and trainees
n
Participating in clinical governance, audit and research
n
Contributing to after-hours and on-call ICU roster
n
n
Salary & Package (as per QLD Health Award)

L25 – L27:
$259,072 – $274,678 p.a.

L18 – L24:




$216,643 – $251,642 p.a.

L13 – L18:
$187,569 – $216,643 p.a.

Total remuneration:

Requirements

MBBS or equivalent with AHPRA registration (or eligibility)

Fellowship of CICM or equivalent specialist recognition
n
Demonstrated ICU experience and clinical leadership skills
n
Robust communication and teamwork abilities
