is seeking a motivated
Junior 1st Year Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice
to join an established automotive workshop in
Geelong, VIC
.
n
This is a great chance for someone who is genuinely passionate about cars and wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry. You'll work alongside qualified technicians, gain hands‐on workshop experience and develop the practical skills needed to become a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.
n
You'll earn while you learn and complete your
AUR***** Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
, developing skills across vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
n
We're looking for someone who already has a
strong interest in automotive
and has taken steps to develop their knowledge. Ideally, you'll have completed a
Certificate II in Automotive
or have gained practical experience working on cars at home or through personal projects.

What You'll Learn n
Working alongside qualified technicians, you'll develop hands‐on skills in:

n
Vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance.
n
n
Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
n
n
Using diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
n
n
Brake, steering and suspension maintenance and repairs.
n
n
Engine and mechanical component repairs.
n
n
Removing and replacing worn or damaged components.
n
n
Vehicle inspections, testing and safety checks.
n
n
Reading and following manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
n
n
Safe and correct use of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
n
n
Maintaining professional workshop and safety standards.
n
n
As your apprenticeship progresses, you'll take on more complex tasks and greater responsibility under the guidance of qualified technicians.

Automotive Experience n
While you don't need to have worked professionally in an automotive workshop before, the host is ideally looking for someone who has already demonstrated their interest in the trade.
n
It would be highly regarded if you have:
n
n
n
Completed or commenced a
Certificate II in Automotive
,
or
n
n
Regularly worked on cars at home, helped with mechanical work or completed your own automotive projects.
n
n
We're interested in candidates who can show that automotive is more than just a passing interest and that they're committed to developing their skills through an apprenticeship.
Eligibility n
Applicants must be
Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents
to be eligible for this apprenticeship.
