And, as we continue to grow, we're on the hunt for a Desktop Support Officer - Audio Visual to join our team in Melbourne to deliver high quality, onsite technical support to our customers. The role is full-time and will require you to be onsite at our customer site.

Requirements

What You'll Do:
n
n
Support and maintain classroom AV systems including interactive panels, projectors, audio systems, microphones, display technologies, and wireless presentation systems.
n
Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related incidents in a timely manner.
n
Ensure all learning spaces are operational at the start of each school day.
n
Maintain documentation of classroom AV configurations.
n
Provide AV setup and operational support for school assemblies, chapel services, information nights, parent-teacher interviews, productions and performances, and board and executive meetings.
n
Configure staging, lighting (where applicable), projection, and audio mixing for events.
n
Operate sound desks, lapel microphones, and presentation systems during events.
n
Coordinate event testing and rehearsals.
n
Maintain and support auditorium AV systems, PA systems, digital signage, and video conferencing systems.
n
Monitor AV asset lifecycle and recommend upgrades.
n




Work with the IT Site Lead on AV roadmap planning and standardisation.
n
Liaise with third-party AV vendors for maintenance and installations.
n
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 desktop support as required.
n
Support staff and student devices in relation to AV integration.
n
Assist with meeting room technologies and executive conferencing systems.
n
Maintain accurate ticket logging and time recording within the service desk platform.
n
Conduct regular checks of key AV spaces.
n
Proactively identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
n
Maintain spare equipment inventory including cables, microphones, and adapters.
n
Develop quick-reference guides for staff use.
n

What You'll Bring:
n
n
Experience supporting AV systems in education or corporate environments.
n
Familiarity with interactive displays, audio mixers and amplification systems, HDMI distribution and switching, wireless display technologies, and Microsoft Teams / Zoom Rooms.
n
Basic networking knowledge, with IP-based AV experience desirable.
n
Ability to diagnose signal flow issues and perform audio/video path troubleshooting.
n
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to IT and non-IT stakeholders.
n




Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
n
Ability to remain calm under pressure during live events.
n
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
n
Ability to prioritise urgent classroom issues effectively.
n
High level of organisation and attention to detail.
n
Willingness to work flexible hours to support key school events as required.
n
Relevant IT or Audio Visual qualification (desirable).
n
Demonstrated experience providing AV support.
n
Current Working With Children Check or eligibility to obtain one.
n
Understanding of education environments preferred.
