Job Description
n HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly people living in an aged care home.n
n As a pastoral care volunteer, you'll be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church in the area, offering comfort, presence, and hope to those who need it most.n
n You'll supplement and complement the work of our Residential Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may:n
n - Support people to meet their spiritual needsn
n - Nurture spiritual developmentn
n Skills required for this rolen
n - High level of interpersonal skills including robust empathy and listening skills.n
n - Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training- Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer.n

n Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.n

Requirements

18 years or older • NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
n
n We would be happy to discuss a time to suit your visits while being supported by our Pastoral Care Coordinators. This opportunity would suit someone available for 1-2 hours between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday weekly or fortnightly for 6 months or longer. n
