Role overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior
n SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Technical Consultant to
n support New Zealand payroll operations, while also being capable of supporting
n other geographies as required. This is a critical hands-on role supporting
n payroll stability, compliance, production operations, and SAP SuccessFactors
n platform health across a complex enterprise environment.
n
Ideal candidate profile:
The ideal candidate will
n be a strong SAP SuccessFactors ECP specialist with deep New Zealand payroll
n knowledge, practical production support experience, and the ability to work
n confidently across payroll, technology, vendors, and global support teams. They
n must be comfortable operating in a regulated environment where payroll
n accuracy, system availability, data integrity, and compliance obligations are
n critical.
n
Purpose of the role
n
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Payroll Team
n and SAP SuccessFactors, with a specific focus on New Zealand payroll and the
n ability to provide support across other geographies where required.
n
Key responsibilities
n
• Act as the subject matter
n expert for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), with a strong
n focus on New Zealand payroll.
n
• Maintain and support SAP
n SuccessFactors production and standby environments, ensuring systems remain
n stable, accurate, secure, and available.
n
• Support payroll processing
n activities, including issue resolution, configuration changes, data integrity,
n transports, and production support.
n
• Work as part of a global team
n supporting payroll operations across multiple geographies, while maintaining
n strong local accountability for New Zealand payroll requirements.
n
• Provide on-call or
n out-of-hours support during critical payroll finalisation and payroll run




n periods when required.
n
Mandatory knowledge, skills and experience
n
• Strong technical proficiency
n in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), including hands-on
n configuration, support, troubleshooting, and operational management.
n
• Deep understanding of Recent
n Zealand payroll operations, payroll compliance requirements, and payroll
n processing practices.
n
• Experience supporting complex
n payroll environments where accuracy, timeliness, security, and regulatory
n compliance are critical.
n
• Experience with payroll
n configuration, system configuration, data integrity management, ECP transports,
n and production change support.
n
• Strong ABAP skills, including
n the ability to investigate, debug, and resolve payroll or integration-related
n issues.
n
• Solid understanding of ITIL,
n DevOps, SAFe or Agile ways of working, including incident, problem, change,
n release, and operational support disciplines.
n
• Effective communication,
n collaboration, time management, adaptability, and attention to detail.
n
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience
n
• Experience across broader SAP
n SuccessFactors modules beyond Employee Central Payroll.
n
• Experience with solution
n implementation, upgrades, releases, testing, and adherence to industry best
n practice.
n
• Understanding of enterprise
n technology standards, operating frameworks, controls, and governance
n expectations.
n
• Understanding of HR business
n processes and how payroll integrates with broader HR data and employee
n lifecycle activity.
n
• Experience working in a
n regulated, business-critical, or financial services environment.
n
Qualifications
n
• SAP SuccessFactors or SAP
n Payroll certification is preferred.
n
• Certified Payroll Technician
n (CPT) or Certified Payroll Practitioner (CPP) is advantageous.
n
• ITIL, DevOps, or Scaled Agile
n certification is advantageous.
