nOn behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeing a Oracle DBA -
Conversion/Migration
Specialist.n
Responsibilities:
n
n• Lead the execution of the database conversion POC, including planning, analysis, execution, and validationn
n• Run Oracle conversion tools in analysis mode and interpret findings related to data and schema issuesn
n• Identify and remediate data inconsistencies and encoding conflicts that may prevent successful conversionn
n• Execute the conversion in a non-production environment and validate database stability and integrityn
n• Work closely with application teams to assess impacts to PL/SQL logic and dependent systemsn
n• Develop documentation, including findings, risks, and recommendations for next stepsn
n• Proactively identify risks, blockers, and areas of uncertainty and communicate them clearlyn
n• Support integration validation to ensure downstream systems continue to function correctlyn
Qualifications:
n
n• Strong background as an Oracle DBA with experience in complex production environmentsn
n• Hands-on experience with database migrations, conversions, or major upgradesn
n• Experience working in environments with limited documentation and high complexityn
n• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyn
nNice to Haven
n• Government/public sector experience - a robust asset would be core government, but this is not mandatoryn
n• Experience working with Solaris or similar Unix-based environmentsn
n• Previous experience supporting Unicode or multi-byte character implementationsn
