WHO YOU ARE
n
This Darwin-based opportunity suits a capable Network Engineer with strong technical expertise focused on delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure.
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
n
5+ years' experience in network engineering roles supporting complex enterprise or multi-site environments
n
Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networking solutions
n
Strong hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet preferred), routing, switching, and VPN technologies
n
Demonstrated experience working within Zero Trust or up-to-date security architectures (e.g. Zscaler)
n
Solid understanding of Azure networking, hybrid environments, and cloud integration with Microsoft 365
n
Practical knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, network segmentation, and compliance requirements (e.g. Essential Eight, DISP)
n
Strong capability in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network performance issues across distributed environments
n
Experience maintaining accurate technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs
n
Proven ability to work with vendors and service providers to resolve incidents and improve service outcomes
n
Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across ICT teams and business stakeholders
n
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to broader team outcomes
n
Industry certifications such as CCNA, NSE, or equivalent are highly regarded
n

WHAT YOU'LL DO
n
n
Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, and cloud‐based network solutions aligned with business requirements
n
Maintain and support core network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN environments (e.g. Fortinet, Ubiquiti)
n
Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and implement solutions to optimise reliability and availability
n
Implement and maintain network security controls in line with Essential Eight, DISP, and organisational requirements
n
Manage network access, segmentation, and Zero Trust principles to ensure secure and controlled environments
n
Support and maintain integration with cloud platforms including Azure and Microsoft 365
n
Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, working closely with internal teams and external vendors
n
Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery activities to ensure business continuity
n
Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs
n
Collaborate with ICT team members and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and fit-for-purpose solutions
n
Support the delivery of network-related projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
n
