An established North Sydney chartered accounting firm is looking for an experienced
Senior Manager
to join its growing Business Services & Tax team.
n
Operating for more than 30 years, the firm has three Directors and a team of around 20, advising a sophisticated client base ranging from privately owned SMEs through to groups with turnover exceeding $250 million.
n
The firm has particular strength across
property, property funds, construction and development
, creating an opportunity to work on more complex tax and advisory matters than you would typically find in a boutique practice, while maintaining direct access to the Directors.
n
This is a
newly created position
, driven by continued growth and the need to create additional capacity at Senior Manager and Director level.
The Opportunityn
You will gradually take ownership of a portfolio of approximately
$800K in fees
, with relationships transitioned across from the existing Senior Managers and Directors.
n
Your clients will include property groups, investors, developers and established private businesses across a range of industries.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing client relationships across compliance, tax planning and advisory
n
Advising private groups on tax structuring and planning, Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT and small business CGT concessions
n
Providing advice on restructures, succession planning and complex private group matters
n
Handling property-related tax issues, including GST and the margin scheme for property development
n




Working with property funds across MIT and AMIT tax regimes and investor tax reporting
n
Reviewing complex tax and financial work and ensuring a high standard of technical delivery
n
Leading and developing staff from the firm's shared resource pool
n
Working closely with the Directors on complex client matters and broader advisory projects
n
n

About Youn
You'll ideally be an experienced Manager or Senior Manager looking for greater client ownership, more sophisticated work and a clearer progression prospect.
n
You will bring:
n
n
CA/CPA qualification – essential
n
Strong Business Services & Tax experience within an Australian public practice firm
n
Experience managing a substantial portfolio of private clients
n
Strong Australian tax technical knowledge
n
Confidence reviewing complex work and providing advice directly to clients
n
Experience developing and mentoring accountants
n
Exposure to
property, property funds, construction or development
will be highly regarded
n
