Job Description
Are you looking to build your career in a laboratory workplace where quality, teamwork, and continuous learning are valued?
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our ICP team in Perth, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely analytical results while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience, particularly in ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS instrumentation, who enjoys technical problem-solving and working in a fast-paced environment.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play an important role in the analysis of samples using ICP instrumentation.
Working as part of a collaborative laboratory team, you will ensure testing is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities include however, are not limited to:
Conduct analysis of samples using ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation
Perform sample dilutions, prepare calibration standards, and complete testing activities
Complete daily pre-start checks and support equipment upkeep
Transfer analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Maintain accurate laboratory records and logbooks
Complete quality control checks and related documentation
Follow established testing procedures to minimise contamination risks and ensure data integrity
Contribute to achieving daily production targets while maintaining quality standards
Support compliance with NATA, ISO, quality, safety, and environmental requirements
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS instrumentation
An understanding of analytical testing processes and quality control requirements
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate results
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
A team-oriented approach and willingness to support and train team members when required
Commitment to maintaining secure work practices at all times
