Alloy Health is a psychology and speech pathology practice in Melbourne that works across disciplines.
We assess and support children and adolescents with language, communication, learning, autism and ADHD.
We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join us on a casual basis.
Hours and days are arranged around your availability and client demand.
The role
This role combines assessment and therapy.
You will:
Complete paediatric speech pathology assessments across receptive and expressive language, speech, pragmatics and social communication, and functional communication
Work alongside our psychologists on autism and developmental assessments, bringing speech pathology expertise to formulation, recommendations and reports
Deliver evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming intervention tailored to each child and family
Where clinically appropriate, keep working with a child you have assessed instead of handing the family on once the report is done
Liaise with families, schools, paediatricians and other professionals
Why clinicians choose Alloy
Paid report writing.
Every assessment comes with paid time for scoring and reports, and the clinical work around each appointment is paid too.
A second clinician reviews every assessment report before it goes to a family.
You work closely with psychologists, adding to the same clinical picture rather than working separately.
Admin support handles scheduling, invoicing and client enquiries, so you can focus on clinical work.
Assessment templates, clinical resources and testing materials are provided.
Structured onboarding,
plus real influence over how speech pathology is practised here as we grow.
Support, and why we want someone experienced
You will have regular clinical consultation with our Principal Psychologist, case discussion with the psychologists, and a second review of your assessment reports.
We do not have a senior Speech Pathologist yet, so this role does not come with supervision from within speech pathology.
That is why we are looking for someone experienced who is confident making their own clinical decisions and knows when to ask for input.
Pay
$65 to $72 per hour including casual loading, plus superannuation, depending on experience.
This is a casual role under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award **** (Health Professional classification).
Your rate is set against your classification and experience.
About you
At least three years' post-qualification experience in paediatric speech pathology
Solid experience in paediatric assessment and report writing
Confident working on your own, and collaborative by instinct
Committed to evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming practice
Clear, warm communication with children, families and schools
Experience in autism or social communication assessment, NDIS, literacy or Developmental Language Disorder is a bonus.
Essential
A tertiary qualification in speech pathology, and eligibility for Certified Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
A current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance, or able to get both before you start
