Tasks and Responsibilities:
n
n
· developing, implementing and
n reviewing environmental health management plans and occupational health and
n safety plans
n
n
· preparing and implementing
n plans and strategies for the safe, economic and suitable disposal of
n commercial, industrial, medical and household wastes
n
n
· advising on and enforcing
n legislation, implementing prevention economics and strategies for communicable
n diseases, food safety, waste water treatment and disposal systems, recreation
n and domestic water quality, contaminated and hazardous substances, and
n minimising air, sea, water and noise pollution to improve health outcomes
n
n
· identifying hazards, and
n assessing and controlling risks in the workplace
n
n
· developing, implementing and
n monitoring programs minimising workplace and environmental pollution involving
n chemical and physical hazards
n
n
· promoting ergonomic principles
n within the workplace such as matching furniture, equipment and work activities
n to the needs of employees
n
n




· inspecting and auditing
n workplaces, processes, plant, and chemical and physical hazards for legislative
n compliance
n
n
· training employees in personal
n protective equipment and secure working procedures
n
n
· recording and investigating
n injuries and equipment damage, and reporting safety performance
n
n
· coordinating the return of injured workers into the workplace
n
n

n
Requirementsn
n
n
· bachelor degree or higher
n qualification
n
n
· In some instances
n relevant experience and/or on -the -job training may be required in addition to
n the formal qualification
n
n
· Registration or licensing may
n be required.
n
n
· High level interpersonal skills
n with a strong customer service focus.
n

· Ability to build and maintain
n positive relationships and partner with all areas of the business.

· Excellent written and verbal
n communication skills.
