A growing South Australian civil contractor is expanding its team as it moves into an exciting period of growth, with a strong pipeline of projects secured across the state.
With capabilities spanning civil infrastructure, structural concrete and large-scale landscaping, the business delivers complex projects across South Australia and is continuing to build its team around future growth.
They are now looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer who is ready to take on greater ownership, broaden their project management exposure and take the next step towards becoming a Project Manager.
You will work closely with experienced Project Managers and site teams, playing a key role across the technical, commercial and operational delivery of projects.
This is an opportunity to step beyond traditional engineering responsibilities and start taking genuine ownership of project outcomes.
The Role
As Senior Project Engineer, you will take a leading role in the delivery of civil projects, working across engineering, coordination, commercial and project management activities.
You will be responsible for:
Leading engineering and project activities from planning through to completion
Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers




Managing project programmes and contributing to commercial performance
Supporting cost control, forecasting, variations and project reporting
Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with design, specifications, quality and safety requirements
Driving Quality Assurance and WHS processes across project delivery
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and delivery partners
Providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Working closely with Project Managers and taking on increasing responsibility across project delivery
Developing the commercial and leadership capability required to progress into Project Management

You have strong technical foundations, but you are equally interested in the bigger picture — commercial outcomes, client relationships, project strategy and leading people.
You will ideally bring:
Relevant Civil Engineering qualifications
Proven Senior Project Engineer experience within civil construction or infrastructure
Strong technical and project delivery capability
Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial outcomes
Confidence coordinating subcontractors, consultants and site teams
Solid communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers
A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Genuine ambition to progress into a Project Manager role
Most importantly, you will be someone who wants to take ownership, is commercially curious and is ready to step up.
