The Port Lincoln Football League (the League) comprises six clubs of seven teams, incorporates an Umpires Committee, and is based at Centenary Oval in Port Lincoln.
This is a diverse, energetic, and progressive sporting body which embraces good practices, teamwork, support, and success.
Role
The Goal Umpires Coach will be responsible for the leading, development and overall deployment of goal umpires of the League.
This appointment would normally be an applicant with senior field and/or goal umpire experience, and the role is a servant of the League in a sub-contracting role.
Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses working with the League to fulfill their requirements for the on field and associated responsibilities of gameday adjudication and includes:
Working with other appointed umpire coaches (field, boundary, fitness, goal)
Being an automatic member of the Umpires Committee and is to attend Selection Panel meetings.
Providing opportunities for training with sessions commencing with pre-season training and undertaken weekly with a minimum basis of once a week throughout the football season.




Providing prospect for upskilling of umpires through AFL online training.
Working with the League Board for any changes or requirements regarding officials.
Assisting with the recruitment of umpires, particularly goal umpires.
Assisting with goal umpire grievance procedures where necessary.
Requirements & Qualifications
Personal Abilities / Skills / Knowledge
Has a working knowledge and appreciation of the Port Lincoln Football League constitution, structures, and philosophies.
Demonstrates leadership capabilities and be a person of good character.
Proven ability to work with a range of people and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team situation.
Must have Working with Children accreditation.
