Senior Developer, Merchandise & Supply Chain
and play a pivotal role in designing and enhancing the Oracle solutions that support our merchandise and supply chain operations.
Working within our Technology team, you will combine deep Oracle development expertise with strong commercial and operational understanding to deliver resilient, scalable and high-performing database solutions.
This is an opportunity to influence critical platforms, lead complex technical work and help shape how technology supports one of Australia's most iconic retail businesses.
What will your day look like?
Reporting to the Platform Manager, Merchandise & Supply Chain, you will:
Design and implement Oracle database solutions, including data models, schemas and database objects
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development through to testing and deployment
Develop and maintain PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers and packages
Improve database performance through SQL tuning, indexing and data-structure optimisation
Integrate Oracle databases with other systems and applications, ensuring data integrity and reliable information flow
Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, performance constraints and data inconsistencies
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers and broader team members
Conduct code, architecture and design reviews to promote strong technical standards and development practices
Lead and contribute to technology projects, working closely with delivery leads, managers and business stakeholders
Maintain clear technical documentation covering database designs, processes and procedures
Identify opportunities to improve database technologies, development practices and delivery processes.
What will you bring?




You are an experienced Oracle developer who can move confidently between detailed technical delivery, solution design and stakeholder collaboration.
You will bring:
Extensive experience as an Oracle Developer, ideally supported by a strong record of successful database projects
Strong Oracle Retail experience
Advanced capability in PL/SQL, SQL and database design
Expertise in Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports
Experience across Oracle Database and DB2 technologies
Experience with APEX and shell scripting
Knowledge of Pro*C
Experience implementing DevOps practices for database deployment, including CI/CD and automated database-script deployment
Knowledge of order management systems
Familiarity with technologies such as Workato, Kafka and Automic
The ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions
Strong problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder-management skills
A collaborative approach and the confidence to provide technical leadership and mentoring.
