Production Technician – Hudson Institute Cell Therapies

Production Technician
to join the
Cell Therapies platform
at Hudson Institute of Medical Research, Australia'sleading Medical Research Institute.
This position willwork closely with a small, skilled, collaborative team to support thepreparation and production of clinical grade cellular therapy productscontributing to a purpose driven mission that can profoundly impact patients'lives.
Working within the Monash MedicalCentre Precinct, you will collaborate closely with Monash Health clinicians,nursing staff, pathology services and cell therapy teams to support bothstandard-of-care transplantation services and cutting-edge cellular therapyclinical trials.
Typicalactivities for this role include:
Conduct supervised aseptic manipulationand processing of human cells, and blood components in an ISO 8 cleanroomenvironment, adhering to NATA and GMP requirements.
Prepare processing kits, materials, andsterile equipment for production processes.
Prepare documentation prior to and postprocessing.
Perform routine daily operational tasks tosupport the function of the HICT facility, including but not limited totemperature monitoring, inventory/ material control, and facility cleaning.
Operate and perform basic maintenance onlaboratory and processing equipment (e.g. centrifuges, Biological Safety Cabinetsand cryogenic systems).
Complete and maintain accurate qualitysystem documentation, including batch records, forms, logs, and reports inaccordance with GMP and ISO***** standards.
Perform facility environmental monitoring,equipment calibrations, checks and scheduled maintenance activities.
Use laboratory software systems such asQuality Management Systems (QMS) and equipment monitoring platforms and otherIT office tools (e.g. Google Suite, Microsoft Suite).
Participate in continuous improvementinitiatives related to manufacturing processes and operational efficiency.
Work occasional flexible schedule, includingafter-hours or weekends, depending on production schedules and clinicalrequirements.
Comfortable with working in a regulatedlaboratory (e.g. NATA ISO*****, ISO*****, ISO***** or similar) and hospitalsetting.
Excellent attention to detail and theability to complete tasks in a precise and consistent manner.
Ability to work as part of amultidisciplinary team with a shared focus on patient care.
Applies knowledge and skills to a variedrange of different tasks.
Willingness to work flexible hours,including weekends or after-hours as needed to support urgent processing andpatient needs.
A Diploma or Degree in Science (BiomedicalScience, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent) with relevant workexperience; or
Experience working in a regulated laboratorysetting such as blood bank, transfusion service, pathology lab or cellprocessing facility.
Up-to-dateand valid WWCC and National Police Check required.
Highly Desired:
Experience in working in a regulatedlaboratory setting such as a blood bank, transfusion service, pathology lab, orcell processing facility.
In-depth knowledge of NATA ISO*****.Previous exposure to GMP, TGA, or NATA-accredited environments.
Experience in cleanroom operations, andbiosafety cabinets, including aseptic processing, performing calculations,performing dilutions.
Familiarity with blood component processing,cell separation techniques, or cryopreservation methods.
Strong understanding of aseptic technique,quality documentation, and laboratory workflows.
In depth-knowledge of cell therapy, stemcell biology and regenerative medicine
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
This position is a
fixed term contract role
for 12 months in a full-time capacity.
Salary is based on Technical, Administrative andProfessional Staff scale, TAP 4.
Superannuation of 12.5% and very attractivesalary packaging options are available.
