The role
As Chief Steward, you'll manage the smooth running of the stewarding department, making sure our kitchen and food and beverage venues always have clean equipment and facilities. You'll work efficiently, keep a close eye on cost, and meet F&B; standards and Health & Safety and hygiene regulations in line with HACCP.
Key responsibilities
Lead the stewarding team day to day, managing rosters, labour cost and performance through coaching and recognition
Keep our kitchens and back of house spotless,



with equipment working and HACCP and food safety standards consistently met
Partner with the Executive Chef and F&B; outlets so every venue has clean, quality equipment when it needs it
Be visible during busy service periods, including restaurants and banqueting, ready to jump in where needed
Manage OSE inventory, cost and wastage, and recycling and water initiatives
Build one connected team across departments, and pitch in whenever something unexpected comes up
What you'll bring
At least 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, with good interpersonal and leadership skills
Experience in a stewarding environment servicing multiple F&B; outlets or venues (open kitchen exposure is an advantage)
Great communication skills, with the ability to train, give feedback and guide your team
Good time management and organisational skills (rostering experience is an advantage)
The ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 30 kilograms
Pride in your presentation, including wearing your uniform well
