We are looking for an enthusiastic Machinist with a strong work ethic to join our friendly, well-respected and long-established company on a 2-year fixed-term contract.
You will be joining a dynamic team where you can build robust connections with your immediate peers and work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider company.
The key functions of this role are:
Operate various types of CNC machinery to manufacture production parts, parts for tooling and fixtures, and prototype parts
Can operate other manual fabrication machine such as Milling, Drilling, Lathe, band saw, and grinders will be an advantage
Familiar with the use of different precision measuring devices
Perform all tasks according to the specifications and Quality Management System procedures.
Read and Interpret drawings
Liaise with various departments to manufacture specific parts for projects
Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities, maintaining high standards through 6S methodology
Program CNC equipment where required
Clean and de-burr parts where required
Maintain an organised, clean and safe work environment at all times.
Do you have what it takes?
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
Trade Qualification as Fitter & Turner / Machinist essential
Experience in the operation and programming of CNC machine shop equipment is essential
High level of technical aptitude
Ability to work autonomously
Reliable, punctual and dependable
High attention to detail
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in accordance with business objectives
