Our Intellectual Property (IP) and Consumer Markets practice isrecognised as one of the leading teams in Australia and demand forour services has created an opportunity for an Associate tocontribute further to the expansion of our team. Working with someof Australia's best known brands, the team is skilled in handlinghigh-profile IP transactions of all types, as well as supportingbrand and asset creation both locally and in conjunction with thewider global team on cross-border matters.
In this role you will be working closely with GeorginaHey, supporting clients from a broad range ofindustries, covering:
Trade mark, design and domain name management – includingadvising in relation to new brand clearances and managingsignificant trade mark portfolios for well-known Australian andglobal brands;
Advising in relation to IP asset protection and maintenancematters, infringement issues and trade mark oppositions
IP licensing and commercialisation transactions
IP due diligence for M&A; transactions
Advising in relation to the ACL and commercial legal issuesimpacting our brands clients
Other commercial transactions including supply,distribution and marketing arrangements such as influencer andsponsorship arrangements
Requirements
A minimum of 1+ years PQE gained within a reputableIntellectual Property/Commercial practice
Solid time management & organisational skills with thecapacity to manage multiple conflicting prioritiessimultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills includingstrong drafting skills
