Are you a commercially minded finance leader who thrives on driving strategic outcomes? The City of Karratha is seeking an experienced Strategic Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in shaping the City's financial future. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead key financial functions including budgeting, treasury management, business partnering and financial planning, while providing leadership to a high-performing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence organisational decision-making, optimise financial performance and contribute to the sustainable growth of one of Western Australia's most dynamic regional communities.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the coordination and delivery of the City's annual budget and budget review processes in collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation.
Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, strategic investments and loan portfolio compliance to maximise financial performance.
Support the preparation of financial statements, monthly reporting, long-term financial planning and audit activities.
Provide expert financial advice, analysis and reporting to Councillors, leaders and key stakeholders.
Lead,



mentor and develop the Management Accounting team while driving continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
What We're Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CPA or Chartered Accountant accreditation.
Demonstrated experience in a senior financial management or management accounting role, with leadership responsibility for multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, treasury management, financial reporting, cash flow management and Australian Accounting Standards.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong working relationships.
Highly developed organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver strategic outcomes.
