Summary
Aussie World is looking for an
Assistant Ride Operations Manager
to help lead our frontline team and deliver outstanding guest experiences — full time, permanent.
Reporting to the Ride Operations Manager, the Assistant Ride Operations Manager is second-in-charge of a large frontline team across the park. You'll be a visible, hands-on leader who steps up as the senior manager on site during allocated shifts, supports the Ride Operations Manager in day-to-day operations, and helps deliver safe, efficient, and memorable guest experiences aligned with our values.

Responsibilities
Guest Experience
Support the delivery of consistent, friendly, and professional guest service across the park
Act as an escalation point for guest complaints, incidents, and complex enquiries, resolving issues promptly and empathetically
Help monitor guest feedback and on-site observations to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Apply service recovery strategies and goodwill gestures in line with company guidelines
Lead, coach, and support a large frontline team, including supervisors and casual employees
Help foster a positive, inclusive, high-performance culture aligned with our values and service mindset
Assist with rostering, deployment, and break coverage to ensure effective operations during peak and off-peak periods
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and capability development
Lead daily briefings, opening and closing procedures, and ensure adherence to operational checklists and standards
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Support day-to-day theme park operations with a hands-on approach, upholding standards of safety, training, guest experience, and compliance
Act as the senior manager on site during allocated shifts, exercising delegated operational authority in the Ride Operations Manager's absence
Help make real-time operational decisions in response to weather, safety incidents, ride failures, or security risks
Work closely with Ride Operators, Operations Managers, and Safety teams to ensure smooth operations and effective guest flow
Special Events
Help plan, coordinate, and communicate operational and service information throughout special events
Ensure plans, checklists, briefings, and procedures are in place and communicated to staff at daily briefings
Support supervisors and the team during special events and monitor guest satisfaction and feedback
Work Health & Safety, Security & Compliance
Help ensure operational activities comply with WHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Qld Amusement Device legislation
Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across the team
Support risk assessments, inspections, audits, and safety checklists
Assist with incident response, reporting, and investigations, including guest injuries and ride stoppages
Act as a first responder in medical and emergency situations

About You
Experience
Experience leading or supporting large, diverse frontline teams, including supervisors and casual employees
Background in theme parks, attractions, major events, hospitality, tourism, retail, or entertainment venues
Experience delivering exceptional guest experiences in high-volume environments
Exposure to rostering, deployment, and labour optimisation across peak and off-peak periods
Experience handling guest complaints and escalations, and supporting incident response
Exposure to WHS, risk management, and compliance in public-facing environments
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business, Events, Management.
Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
Current Advanced First Aid & CPR
Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of guest journey mapping and service recovery principles
Familiarity with theme park operations, guest flow, and queue management (desirable)
Outstanding people leadership and coaching skills
High-level communication skills, including a strong on-the-floor presence
Ability to remain calm, decisive, and visible during high-pressure situations
Strong problem-solving, judgement, and conflict resolution skills
Proficient in using workforce management, rostering, and incident-reporting systems, plus Microsoft Office
