About Us
Ultimate Fleet Maintenance is a Brisbane-based heavy vehicle service and repair business, keeping road transport fleets moving safely and on time. From our Hemmant workshop, we service and maintain a wide range of prime movers, rigids and semi-trailers. We offer on-site repairs and breakdown assistance, but no two days are ever the same. We're a hands-on, tight knit team that takes pride in quality work, and we invest in our people. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to upgrade to a truck license. Additional ticketing and licensing opportunities are available such as air-con, approved examiner etc
The Role
We're looking for a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic who's ready for a new challenge and wants to move into the heavy vehicle industry. You bring the mechanical foundation; we'll provide the training, mentoring and experience to help you become a skilled heavy vehicle technician.

What You'll Be Doing
Servicing and maintaining heavy vehicles, including prime movers, rigids and semi-trailers
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
Brake, suspension, driveline and engine work
Carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance to roadworthy standards




Completing job cards and service records accurately all on our workshop software (no paper jobcards)
Working alongside and learning from experienced heavy vehicle technicians
About You
Trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
Genuine interest in moving into heavy vehicles and a willingness to learn
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Safety-focused with a good eye for detail
Reliable, punctual and a positive team player
Current driver's license and own transport (HR license desirable but not essential)
Any other licenses/skills highly desired but not essential
What We Offer
Structured training and mentoring to transition into heavy vehicle work
Pathway to a heavy vehicle qualification (Heavy Vehicle Road Transport)
Competitive hourly rate ($40 per hr minimum while you upskill, however willing to negotiate pay based on experience and what you bring to the table)
Full-time, Monday to Friday, hours 7:30am–4:00pm
