Job Description Test Architect Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Architect to lead quality engineering across multiple squads and vendor teams within a complex enterprise environment.
This role is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end testing strategy, driving automation excellence, and embedding quality throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in API and UI automation using Playwright, strong experience in CI/CD pipelines, and a proven track record in delivering quality outcomes across large-scale, integrated platforms.
Experience with Salesforce Service Layer is mandatory, while exposure to other Salesforce Clouds is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities - Define and govern enterprise-wide test architecture, automation frameworks, and quality engineering practices.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple agile squads and vendor delivery teams.
- Act as the Quality Engineering representative, influencing quality decisions from requirements through to production.
- Design, review, and optimise automation frameworks for API, UI, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards to improve maintainability, scalability, and reusability of automation assets.
- Drive CI/CD quality gates and integrate automated testing into delivery pipelines.
- Continuously improve test execution efficiency through parallelisation, framework optimisation, service virtualisation, and intelligent test selection.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Development, DevOps, and Platform teams to embed quality into every stage of the SDLC.
- Define and implement risk-based testing strategies across complex distributed systems and environments.
- Mentor and uplift Quality Engineers, Test Leads, and vendor teams through coaching and technical guidance.
- Provide oversight for environment, test data, and release testing strategies.




- Champion best practices across functional, integration, API, performance, accessibility, security, and operational testing.
Mandatory Skills Experience - 10+ years of Quality Engineering and Test Automation experience, including Test Architecture leadership roles.
- Expert-level experience in Playwright (TypeScript) for UI automation.
- Strong experience designing and implementing API automation frameworks.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Git, and automated quality gates.
- Proven experience leading testing across multiple squads, programs, and third-party vendor teams.
- Strong understanding of modern test architecture patterns, automation framework design, and enterprise-scale quality engineering.
- Experience working in complex environments involving multiple applications, integrations, and deployment pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Service Layer testing (mandatory).
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Desirable Skills - Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, or other Salesforce products.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of performance, accessibility, security, and contract testing.
- Experience with service virtualisation and microservices testing.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing and modern Quality Engineering practices.
