The role
We have an chance for an experienced Senior Strategic Policy and Research Officer to join our Prevention Policy & Research team on a full-time ongoing basis.
Reporting to the Manager – Prevention Policy & Research, you will undertake strategic policy development, complex research and analysis and prepare authoritative reports and advice in response to contemporary and emerging corruption and police misconduct issues and risks.
You will work across IBAC and with external stakeholders to identify issues, develop evidence-based policy responses and contribute to initiatives that strengthen corruption prevention across the Victorian public sector.
Duties include:
* Prepare high-quality authoritative reports and develop appropriate recommendations for policy, system or practice change to assist corruption prevention.
* Undertake research and complex analysis across a range of information systems.
* Provide analysis and advice to senior management on the policy and strategic implications of initiatives and proposals.
* Plan and manage projects on policy and research issues and ensure project objectives are met in a timely way.
* Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy development and achieve outcomes

You will bring:
* Highly developed research, conceptual and analytical skills,
with demonstrated experience developing and resolving complex policy issues
* High-level written and verbal communication skills, including policy and report writing, analysis and briefing
* Strong critical thinking and judgement, with the ability to develop practical responses to complex issues
* Demonstrated ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
Experience in public sector operating environments and a tertiary qualification are desirable.
Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
