THE ROLE
The Senior Housing Services Officer (HAAT) works closely with the Team Leader to assist with the delivery of 'front line' housing services.
HAAT play a critical role assisting individuals and support agencies with queries and applications to the Victorian Housing Register (VHR).
As the Senior Housing Services Officer you are responsible for assisting the Team Leader to ensure the Department's obligations are met in for Loddon Area in managing the VHR.
You will do this by delivering high quality client services for those who are homeless, seeking housing assistance or living in public or community housing.
Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing.
Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.
The Senior Housing Services Officer is a highly skilled housing worker who uses their expertise and knowledge to resolve complex and challenging problems associated with client needs and housing tenancies.
They have a key role in coaching, mentoring and guiding other housing staff and require the capability to work proactively in managing service delivery complexity.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
* Work closely with the Team Leader HAAT to ensure the delivery of housing services.
Includes supporting and work as part of a small team of 4.
Assisting with work allocation tasks, training of staff, performance and assurance reporting.
* Initiate and facilitate case conferences for clients which may include cross Department and agency collaboration.
* Review and recommend strategies for early intervention involving clients with challenging problems, including the use of risk assessment tools and frameworks.
