The Opportunity
McArthur is seeking an
Assistant Director, Health Policy
to support our Federal Government client that provides care for the veteran community, with this role operating in the branch that helps to ensure policy initiatives translate into a practical effective and sustainable outcome for all stakeholders.
The Health Policy branch lies within a section that provides strategic policy advice to senior executives and Government, translating policy priorities into practical, evidence-based and sustainable solutions.
To be considered for this opportunity,
you must currently hold a Baseline security Clearance
at minimum.

This is a casual position offering full-time hours until June 30 th , **** with a potential

to follow. The role is in a central location and has a competitive casual rate per hour between
$***** - $***** + Superannuation
.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and delivery of significant new Government policy initiatives, translating policy intent into practical, effective and sustainable outcomes.
Drive the planning, coordination and execution of complex policy reform projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved within agreed timeframes and governance requirements.
Provide strategic advice to senior executives on policy implementation risks, opportunities, delivery challenges and reform priorities.
Lead engagement and negotiations with stakeholders across government and with external partners to facilitate the effective delivery of policy reforms.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the progress of policy implementation activities, identifying emerging issues and recommending solutions.
Prepare stakeholder consultation processes and incorporate stakeholder feedback into policy and implementation activities.
Selection Criteria:
Sound understanding of Commonwealth Government policy development, decision-making and implementation processes\
Experience contributing to the implementation and delivery of policy initiatives, programs or reforms in a complex environment.
Experience working within Commonwealth health policy and/or program environments.
Active Baseline Clearance or higher.
