About the company
Our client is an Australian background screening business and an ACIC Accredited Body under the National Police Checking Service. Their platform helps employers across government, energy, finance and professional services make protected hiring decisions, and helps applicants get through screening quickly and securely. They are a small, growing North Sydney team investing in automation, identity verification technology and ISO ***** certification.
The role
Reporting to the Team Leader - Customer Service & Compliance, you'll process background checks accurately, securely and on time, and be the first line of ACIC compliance on every National Police Check.
What you will do
Process Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks (NCCHCs) to ACIC Access Agreement and NPCS Handbook standards
Verify identity documents, linkage images and application data in detail, including names, dates of birth, aliases and addresses
Confirm consent, purpose descriptions and Document Verification Service (DVS) checks before submission
Manage Disclosable Court Outcome and special provisions processes
Deliver wider checks: employment and references, qualifications, international criminal, drug and alcohol, financial and directorship
Handle personal and police information in line with the Privacy Act **** and information security policy




Support applicants and customers by live chat, phone and email, keeping records current in HubSpot
About you

Strong analytical skills and an enquiring mind

A calm, patient and compassionate approach to sensitive matters
Clear written communication and confidence with online systems
Highly regarded:
experience in compliance, audit, KYC/AML, screening, HR, legal, criminology or law enforcement; knowledge of the NPCS framework, ACIC requirements or Australian privacy law; identity or document verification experience; HubSpot or similar CRM; a tertiary qualification.
