We pride ourselves on offering the finest fresh produce and premium Italian gourmet goods, and we are currently looking for an energetic Sandwich Hand & Catering Assistant to support our team in our busy commercial kitchen.
The Opportunity
This is a casual role with excellent scope to move into permanent or full-time employment for the right candidate. Enjoy a great work-life balance with regular weekday shifts.
Hours:

Shifts:
Consistent Monday to Friday hours —
no weekend work!
Availability:
Shifts operate with early morning start times.
Pay Rate:
Paid in accordance with the General Retail Industry Award.
Purpose of the Role
You will support day-to-day kitchen, catering, and shop operations by creating premium, high-quality food items. This is a fast-paced, food-prep-focused role suited to someone who takes pride in consistency, presentation, speed, and maintaining our high culinary standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Food Prep & Presentation:
Prepare gourmet baguettes, paninis, and focaccias to order and for shop-floor retail display.
Fresh Produce Prep:
Efficiently portion, cut, and pack fresh vegetable packs, fruit salads, and retail cut fruits.




Salad Production:
Mix and prepare house-made coleslaws, pasta salads, and similar prepared deli lines.
Catering & Deli Support:
Assist the kitchen team with general food preparation and assembly for upscale catering orders.
Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards across all prep, bench, and storage areas. Follow all food safety, WHS, and company procedures.
Inventory Control:
Keeping prep areas clean, organised, and fully stocked with ingredients throughout service. Proactively report low stock to the Head Chef.
Skills & Attributes
Reliable & Punctual:
Someone who is comfortable with early morning starts, shows up on time, and is ready to work.
Efficient:
Able to work quickly, cleanly, and effectively under time pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Detail-Oriented:
Solid attention to detail to ensure absolute consistency in food presentation and portioning.
Experience:
Prior experience in food prep, sandwich making, or a deli/catering environment is preferred (Basic Food Handling training provided if needed).
