Pay rate:
APS5 $88,834 - $96,848 per annum plus 15.4% super
APS6 $99,734 - $111,701 per annum plus 15.4% super
Security requirements:
Australian Citizenship required. Candidates must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance.
Overview
A high-profile Australian Government agency is seeking experienced
APS5 and APS6 Compliance Officers
to join a growing regulatory team in Canberra or Melbourne.
The team is responsible for supporting a significant program of regulatory reform, with a focus on financial disclosure, compliance, assurance and the administration of funding arrangements.
These positions offer an opportunity to contribute to work of national significance while developing experience across regulatory compliance, financial analysis, assurance and investigations.
Responsibilities
APS5
Review financial disclosure returns to assess accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.
Assess funding claims and undertake reviews and enquiries to determine compliance.
Support the accurate processing and payment of funding in accordance with legislation and internal procedures.
Analyse information, identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues and support appropriate follow-up action.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to high-quality, defensible regulatory outcomes.
Engage professionally with internal stakeholders and external scheme participants.
APS6
Independently undertake complex reviews of financial disclosure returns and assess compliance with legislative requirements.
Conduct complex compliance assessments and reviews of funding claims.
Oversee and coordinate the accurate processing and payment of funding in accordance with legislative and procedural requirements.
Collect and analyse information from multiple sources to identify potential non-compliance and emerging regulatory risks.
Support enquiries and investigations into potential breaches of relevant legislation.
Provide well-reasoned advice and recommendations to support regulatory decision-making.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff and contribute to capability development across the team.
Experience/requirements
Experience in
compliance, financial audit, assurance, regulatory work, quality assurance or similar structured review environments
.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information, identify issues and provide accurate, well-reasoned advice.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to undertake methodical and evidence-based assessments.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Flexibility and adaptability when working within changing legislative, regulatory and procedural environments.
A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
For APS6 candidates, demonstrated experience undertaking or leading financial audits, compliance reviews or similar assurance activities will be highly regarded. Formal qualifications or relevant professional experience in accounting, commerce, finance or a related field are also highly desirable.
