HB Group is recruiting multiple Field Assistants to join the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, based at the Virginia Depot.

This is a full time position and the start and finish times are not flexible.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
As a Field Assistant, you'll be out in the field helping with the
surveillance, treatment and eradication of fire ants
throughout the Virginia region.
You'll work as part of a dedicated field team, travelling to different locations each day, conducting inspections,
applying treatments and recording important information using mobile technology.
No two days will necessarily be the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
Driving to various locations, sometimes up to one hour from the depot
Conducting visual fire ant surveillance
Carrying out fire ant bait treatments
Collecting accurate field data using a tablet
Completing daily reports & maintaining accurate records
Walking significant distances across varying terrain
Working outdoors in a range of Queensland weather conditions
Working collaboratively as part of a field team
Following all health, safety and operational procedures
Contributing to the successful delivery of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program
We're looking for people who are
reliable, hardworking, physically capable and happy working outdoors
.
To be successful, you'll have:
A current Australian
Open C-Class Driver Licence
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and organisational skills
A good level of physical fitness, including the ability to walk

across varying terrain
The ability to work outdoors in Queensland conditions
The ability to confidently use mobile technology and tablets
Customer service experience is desirable
The ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Assessment
The ability to obtain and pass a National Police Check
