We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Workshop Manager to lead our workshop maintenance functions from our Kwinana Beach operation. This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the General Manager, with responsibility for the safety, reliability, compliance, performance and financial management of our workshop and fleet.
The successful person will take ownership of:
Fleet reliability – working with the Workshop and Transport teams to keep our heavy vehicle fleet safe, compliant and available.
Workshop performance – overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, defects, inspections and breakdowns.
Safety & compliance – setting the standard and ensuring WHS, dangerous goods, heavy vehicle and regulatory requirements are met.
People leadership – leading, coaching and developing the workshop team.
Financial performance – managing budgets, forecasting expenditure and identifying opportunities to reduce whole-of-life maintenance costs.
Asset management – making informed decisions around fleet condition, refurbishment, replacement and lifecycle costs.
Continuous improvement – building better systems, procedures and ways of working.
Stakeholder management – working closely with Transport, Finance, HSE, suppliers and contractors.

Strategic advice – providing management with clear recommendations on fleet capability, maintenance risk and capital investment.
We are looking for a leader who combines strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and proven people leadership. You will ideally have:
A relevant trade qualification in heavy vehicle, automotive, mechanical or a related discipline.
Proven management experience across fleet, workshop or maintenance operations, ideally within heavy vehicle and dangerous goods transport.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, asset lifecycle management, defect control and workshop systems.
Demonstrated experience with budgets, P&L; analysis, forecasting, cost control and delivering cost improvements.
Proven ability to develop and implement workshop procedures, management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
Sound understanding of WHS, heavy vehicle, road transport and dangerous goods compliance requirements.
Strong capability with Microsoft Office and fleet maintenance systems.
What we offer?
Competitive remuneration package.
Permanent, full time position.
Monday to Friday working week.
Based at our Kwinana Beach operation.
This position is an opportunity to join an established WA business and play a key role in the performance and future development of its fleet and workshop operations. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, improve systems, develop people and make decisions that have a measurable impact on the business.
