About the Role:
The Population Health team are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced health professional to join our team as a Senior Prevention and Health Promotion Officer, for a max term period.
This role will support the implementation of the prevention and health promotion priorities as well as an ACCO-led, placed-based coalition project, focused on transforming the commercial and economic systems that shape youth health and wellbeing in Campaspe.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop project plans that identify goals, objectives, strategies and evaluation for the Community Health - Health Promotion (CH-HP) key areas for action
- Build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families, Elders, community organisations, schools, and local partners to support meaningful participation in project activities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of prevention initiatives that reduce exposure to harmful environments and strengthen protective cultural and community factors
- Assist with gathering local insights, facilitating workshops, and documenting the commercial and economic systems influencing youth wellbeing
- Support culturally safe co-design processes with young people, community members, and partner organisations to shape strategies and interventions
Qualifications/experience required:
Tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, community development or health related field;
Demonstrated experience and strong skills in planning, implementation and evaluation of primary prevention initiatives
Ability to facilitate co-design workshops, engage diverse stakeholders and support youth participation
