The opportunity
Troocoo is seeking experienced APS6 Senior Compliance Officers to work within a Regulatory Division in the Disclosure and Compliance section for a permanent full time opportunity in their Canberra or Melbourne office.
You will review financial disclosures, assess election funding claims and analyse information to identify potential non-compliance. Your work will contribute to transparency in political funding and public confidence in Australia's electoral system. Working under limited direction, you will take ownership of complex compliance activities, exercise sound judgement and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate, defensible outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Independently review financial disclosure returns for accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.
Undertake complex compliance assessments of election funding claims.
Coordinate the accurate processing and payment of funding to eligible political parties and candidates.
Collect and analyse information from diverse sources to identify potential non-compliance, including risks of foreign influence through financial contributions.
Provide clear, well-informed advice to support regulatory decision-making.
Support improvements to compliance procedures and processes.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff.
About you
You will be an experienced compliance,
audit or finance professional with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. You can interpret legislative requirements, assess complex information and translate your findings into practical advice.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading financial audits, compliance reviews or similar assurance activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and assess risks.
A methodical approach to managing tasks accurately and in accordance with procedures.
Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
Confidence working independently and supporting the development of junior staff.
Flexibility and adaptability within an evolving regulatory environment.
Qualifications or relevant experience in accounting, commerce, finance or a related field are highly desirable.
